So, it just dawned on that I never did post the history of Starry Night Prom. My apologies. It’s just been a very busy month. Here is the story in brief:
The Starry Night Prom started in 2008 with a vision to create a once-in-a-lifetime prom experience for Arlington ISD high school students with significant disabilities. Taking the vision from AISD special education teacher Sara Mayo, Chase Christenson developed his Eagle Scout project around creating the Starry Night Prom, along with Boy Scout Troop #396 and the Arlington Elks Lodge #2114. Now an annual even, the Starry Night Prom is heading into its eleventh year of throwing an all-inclusive prom! Students with significant disabilities and their chaperone are treated to beautiful invitations to attend prom, a sit-down dinner, professional photography, corsages and boutonnieres, dessert fountain, a prom king and queen, goodie bags, and, of course, a huge dance floor with a DJ, all at no cost to the student or their chaperone!
Starry Night Prom is a recognized 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization. All donations are tax-deductible.
Please consider donating to this Facebook Fundraiser for Starry Night Prom. You can still donate on this platform through 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, 12/09/2017. Every donation is greatly appreciated.

Did you know that we have been hosting this all-expenses paid prom for special needs high school students in the Arlington ISD for going on ELEVEN YEARS? Yup. It’s true. And we have always had the support of individuals like you in the community and now across the U.S. and even other countries in the world to help us. Thanks to monetary donations and in-kind donations from individual donors, small businesses, and corporate sponsors, we are able to continue our Starry Night Prom tradition each year.
Won’t you please consider donating to this amazing campaign and help make prom night for these kids a magical event? Click on the link above to help us meet our goal.

YES!!!! This Starry Night Prom is going to be the best ever and it’s all thanks to you awesome people and your generous donations. Prom is still 4 days away, so here’s the thing. We’re not going to stop collecting money. We will continue to collect and leave the fundraiser open until the evening of our 10th annual Starry Night Prom, and whatever we have left we’re going to use for next year’s prom. Oh, yes. We are again inspired to keep this thing going.
If you would like to be a part of this awesome program, please email us and let us know. We need new blood. Our board members have been doing this gig for many years and our kids have aged out of the program. We’d like to be able to train the next generation of parents in how to get the funds collected and the in-kind donations. We are ready to
pass the torch to committee members who are ready to top our 10th annual Starry Night Prom. So if you’re ready to be on the 2018 Starry Night Prom executive board, then please send us your name, email address, cell phone number, name of the AISD high school that your student attends (or that you work at), and we will be in touch.
Thank you so much for your support. And keep sharing these updates. We are the little prom that could….help keep us chugging.
